Boy rushed to hospital after being viciously attacked by Chow Chow while out shopping

A boy has been taken to hospital after being bitten by a dog while out shopping.

The white Chow Chow attacked the child outside a B&B mini supermarket in Haverhill, Suffolk, on Saturday (October 1).

The pet was tied up outside the store and bit the boy on his leg between 7.20pm and 7.30pm, resulting in an injury requiring medical treatment, reports SuffolkLive.

Anyone with information, images or footage which could help the inquiry is asked to contact Suffolk Police.

Chow Chows are a spitz-type dog breed originating in northern China.

They are known for their small and sturdy build, and dense double coat which is particularly thick around the neck.

The breed is often described as being cat-like in personality and can be discerning to strangers and at times fiercely protective of its owners and property.
